It was in 2008, September 10th when the LHC (Large Hadron Collider), the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator when the first experiment succeed. There were risks such as open a Black Hole, Strange matter appear in our Universe, a Vacuum state. All those risks are real because they've got a scientific basis, not like 06-06-2006, World's End in 2012 or all those stories. As I said above, there was a chance to open a Black Hole, but it would be as small that it would have not crushed with any atom and in consequence it wouldn't be able to grow up, so this Black Hole would just 'leave' our planet.
Maybe a bit offtopic, but in response to this specific LHC thing (which is simply awesome btw.. the quest to find the 'god'-particle!), there is an awesome series that portraits the fear for scientific flaws, that has an experiment go wrong in a spectacular way, an experiment that is almost exactly thesame as the LHC experiment: Flash Forward.
I advice EVERYONE to watch the series, they are really awesome

This could me true, but even not. The man who predicted that world will go under 2012 also predicted the two world wars. I don't think this is true but it maybe is.

That man you are talking about was the Maya. They didn't even know that other people existed until the white people (European) came to America.Peter wrote:The man who predicted that world will go under 2012 also predicted the two world wars.
