Btw, the Ottoman Empire was great but a noob sold piece of country's so they failed..
But until now Turkye got a great army. Idk but like.. 30mil people from the army.

ofcourse they want to make you think that it was a great empire... But in every regime, empire, gouverment there's a large amount of people who do not agree at all, they will be supressed and unhappy. There's nothing that all people like, unless you have a brainless civilization. That is what I mean, I don't mean if you think it's good, or alot people say its good or whatever, I just want to say... People differs and that is why there's no perfect empire.

+ Why be proud of an army nowadays? We'd better be building up evrything, economy, happiness instead of breaking it down, and another point, numbers won't count in war, nuclear bombs do

I know that the army is not only there for war, but for good endings to.
And I doubt if numbers count nowadays, since the bombs are so strong that they can erase a whole country... y'know what I mean? [ I hope it won't happen that a country *cough* america *cough* drops such a bomb on a country... ]

In some wars numbers still counts, but nowadays the technology is so far that good bombs and weapons are more important then a large army.
Anyway, im not saying that I hate army bytheway, they fight for their/our country, I'm just saying that it would be better if we wouldn't need an army, but I know peace doesn't exist and I don't believe in peace.

I dont want to be nationalistic (Im against nationalism) but the Turkish army is one of the strongest standing armies of our time. We have a huge history of battles if you know what I mean mmmkay?

Every Turkish men haves to go to the army for 1 year (or 6 months?)
Also counts for me, counts for every Turk in the whole world..

You can also choose to go in the Dutch Army.
But you have to go in the turkish army.
If you don't, you have to pay for it.

We don't need any army. Nowadays there are so many treaties, integrations and commitees that a war in (civilized) Western countries and other superpowers is almost impossible. If any country attacks the Netherlands, we have back-up from the whole NATO, UN and EU. No country will attack us...Besides this, we are friendly folks!

So maintaining a big army would be a pure waste of money for us. Ok, it's nice to help other supressed countries out and solving conflicts by sending some men (and women..) with guns, but as you all know, we are doing that enough already. Right?
So in my opinion we should even cut down more on our army and defense system..

But in Turkey it's a whole other story. You guys have a huge conflict with the Kurds..And the past of Turkey shows also a lot of violence. And although Turkey is right next to the relative save and powerful EU, on the other side of Turkey there is Asia; a territorium with a huge amount of conflicts and races who hate and murder eachother. In short, Turkey needs its army.
And, correct me if I'm wrong, but serving your country as a proud soldier, is very noble and important (honour?) in Turkey, right? Young men in Turkey want to join the army in general, in contradiction to the Dutch young men.

So here's the expanation for the relative size-difference between the Netherlands and Turkey (besides we're just a small country and we don't have even 30-40 million men (or women..))

Turkey is also in the NATO so i think almost the same would count for turkey (+ that they have an great army by them selfes)
honour is playing a big role in turkey, so that counts also for serving there land..

Correction, dutch airforce is nothing compared to other countries. I fight for Turkey because its my duty to do so and like i said before im going to follow the steps of my grandfathers (since the ottoman empire). If war comes to the netherlands I might consider fighting for the Netherlands but the situation this country fucks its own people makes me disgust the country I was born from.
