History to your country!

In this topic you can post the history of your country and tell others how proud you are of your country!

Hmm, Norway had the Vikings and in the Viking age many Vikings moved to a city called Sicilia, like 90 percent is Norwegian. The Italian Mafia comes from there and they are Norwegians. Just look how they cant get the Mafia, we Norwegians are so smart

Belgian beated Holland and won their independance i think it was 1830

Belgian had 1000 farmers
French had like 1000000 knights and horses

Get the facts straight ^_^

Belgium was merged with The Netherlands, the Belgians never 'won' their independance, they simply left the Netherlands without any act of competition, war or battle.

Use the right words when you describe history, because the differance between 'won' and 'got' is quite massive in this context.

Thats because they got forced by the conquistadors and forced to accept their religion. What I know by some latin americans is that the entire continent hates spain

anyway, Holland.. this great country!

A small country that can reach so much, like winning a worldcup this sunday [ rofl, I was just kidding; talking about history in WC topic and about football in the history topic ;> ]

Well our country started as small parts, as far as I can remember from history class. We fastly builded a nice country and had alot of power. We made some awesome cheese and we wear weird wooden shoes.

Our VoC ruled the world, we, holland were the worst of all in trading and using slaves, maybe its because our people are market and salesmans people. we also had alooot of nice stuff to make our food better. Ofcourse alot of the ART culture comes from holland to! Think of all the great paintings our grandfathers made. And another thing is our architecture, wich is in my opinion awesome!

We are even part of helping santa clause in this world! they stole our idea 'sinterklaas' and made it santa clause, yeah you bastards.

Oh yeah, we ruled new york... Was ours! thou, we traded it for hungary.

We still are a real powerfull country, but so small ;>

Sweden, The real vikings! xD, and our lovely neutrality to evrything!

well, the dutchmen shaped the netherlands, because without those dikes and polders, the netherlands would not exist, that is the best I think about the netherlands, the rest doesn't bother me.
