Wanna start mapping.

I've heard i needed a program calld valve hammer editor, but i've heard also many people mess up with the set up. So if there's any guide that's helpfull and you used when u started mapping please post here give me a link where i can click download and know how to setup the configs , thanks. Sorry if this is somehow spamming.. but i don't really know many people around here yet..

Edited: Looked for some links around neondragon found on how to download Valve Hammer 3.5, have it at the moment, will search now for the add files or textures or w/e , and the .wad or the others i need, i done some searching already but i don't seem to find it.

Need some help on download the ZHLT or something files that are .bsp and something not really sure what they are... Please post here if u have any idea of it.

zhlt is for compiling... this is a tutorial step by step how to setup valve hammer editor 3.5 with all downloads on.. GO to Tutorial

Alright i did everything right exept on

->Game data files
and on
Build Programs -> Game exacutabel

I did em wrong so i coulden't find the files , i've searched i don't have em anyway u can upload em somewhere so i can have them ?

the game executable for cs is
steam/steamapps/account/counter-strike/hl.exe

for the gama data file maybe try to search the internet
