[No]Another cheat protection?

Since Vac is out of the question, maybe it's time to test another protection?

I figure you don't want to use anything that requires the players to run a client, because that would pretty much kill the servers, so that leaves us with steambans and HLguard.

Maybe one of those could be a good idea to try, or what do you say?

I will have some thing about that, and maybe make secure some server (not all) like cs3.

i guess most cheaters will not come anymore now, if there cheaters make demos of it + take steamid and report to admin of your choice if one is online in steamfriends you may ask him to join the server to perm ban him (you must have a clear demo from him if the guy comes later and complain about perm ban)

Vac is not that good. In theory it's great, but they update it waaaaay to seldom (never), so pretty much all cheats today go through VAC.

VAC is mainly for show nowadays. It scares away some of the cheaters...

The best protections is probably SSC or eac3, but these are to advanced and hard to use, and there are cheats that go through these aswell...

The only thing you can really trust is demo recording, so everyone in nD team, stay on your guard eventhough VAC is on!

VAC for my knowledge (little xD) is total dumb... At least every cheater I have seen nowadays haven't been blocked by VAC

VAC is good of it's own. It work great with these games, it's made for.

VAC don't just find cheaters and ban them, no programs can do that. But VAC have ability to send information's about players directly to Valve - which is the company who own Steam, and who can ban these cheaters.

Other anti-cheat programs, don't exist and HLGuard is just a plugin, which just find configs and information - in your cstrike folder, not anywhere on your pc.

So actually VAC is the best you can get in these days. VAC finds out if a program runs with hl.exe / hl2.exe as cheat normally do.
