Best resolution for CS?

Some of you geeks know wich one is the best resolution for cs? I see so many ppl using 600x480. Con's and Pro's of them??
Please if u vote answer with a reply too


i can't edit the pool anymore but i meant 640x480*

Doubt you have ever seen anyone use 600x460 cause that one doesn't exist. I use 640x480 because it feels best for me. Got used to it from the old versions of the game were the resolution decided the crosshair size.

Well. Tbh, for best performance i would take 800x600 since i got feeling that you hit way better with that <.<

But i use 1280x1024 For best looks. and ive got used to play with it

I use 1024*768 it fits perfect for my screen no idea its the best or anything but im used to it by now

graphic-quality 100% 1280x960
performance is managed anyhow i dont care.. its all about the best picture for me.

I use 1024x768, because then i have SteamPics next to their Playernames and can see who is on my friendslist. This is really very useful. More than i thought. If it wasn't for that, i'd be using 800x600 i guess.

I agree with sultan(hitbox gets smaller with higher resolutions reducing the chance of you getting a headshot)
640x480 is the optimal resolution.
But I use 800x600 so the graphics wont look so bad

False... The hitbox is always the same no matter the resolution.

800x600 openGL and i just use it to not see those damn pictures of the players....like to keep it old school

False... The hitbox is always the same no matter the resolution.

It's configuration is the same but doesnt look smaller in higher resolutions? Beg to differ...

The hitbox is actually not visible. The only thing that changes is the playermodel, which might be just an inch easier to spot with a lower resolution.
