i really find this world cup strange, france lost from mexico, spain lost from switzerland and germany lost from serbia....

Frace losing wasn't that big of a chock. Without a playmaker like Zidane they are nothing. Gourcuff is the man who should take his place, but he is brilliant in one game and then sucks balls in the next. Also Anelka is pretty crappy, and Henry is not even close to what he used to be. Too much of the offence rely on Ribery to do something fantastic.

The only team that has impressed me this far is Argentina (an Germany in their first game). Tactically they are much better organized than what I thought they would be, it seems as if Maradona has got a lot of help from the staff around him. Aslo Messi seems to be on form, and in his best moments he can win on his own.

Ruling out Spain already would be terribly stupid though... They still have a team that could win...

This is just not true... A part from Ronaldo none of the portuguese players could take a spot in the spanish starting lineup for example... The only way I see Portugal getting anywhere in the tournament is if Deco suddenly starts having some of those days when he just floats around the field doing precisely everything to perfection. However, in the first game he was not even close to accomplishing that... With a bit of luck they can make it through the groupstages, but I can't see them going any further than that.

It was the best match, but mainly because the defending sucked. So in a way it was the best match because the players did so many mistakes...
