Reduce lagg and server load please ?

Hi guys, when the servers get really full it starts lagging heavily.
And I mean multiple servers ... you need to remove useless plugins, servers or player slots, please.

And i got another question why is the ndmenu there... whats the actual reason to not use amx mod menu ?

ndmenu is for the members/vips and I think the admins use amx

Admins uses kind of /menu tho

If we would have the 'ndmenu' in the console, we'll take years for slay/kick/ban...

I can type way faster then you are taking to go trough the ndmenu...

I am 100% sure that takes longer then:
Press Z (ndmenu bind) then press 4 then search the name wich maybe takes 1 sec and press the number..

Fail. You can type any sequence of characters from the name (it just have to be unique), and usually you can also do it via chat with "!" instead of the "amx_" prefix, so you don't even have to call the console. "!ban dark 3600" is indeed way faster than searching through a five paged list.

But to answer the question: ndmenu is there because a difference is made between admin and members. Members do not have access to most server or amx commands, only the basic ones, so there's a menu which handles the commands for members. Additionally "console support" could be added, to make usage of those powers like usually, but that would be an additional effort now.

Also, Im sure there are peoples in the team dont even know how to handle with amx.

You can define "flags" so which rights the members get...
and they can be configured just the same as they are now...

you only use "amx_kick, amx_ban, amx_votemap" anyways so what you need ? oh wait "amx_slay" but that was it ?

and you still can use amxmodmenu ( you can bind that one too)

so please a good argument for ndmenu ?

Is it also possible to define the length of bans with flags, like "second parameter of amx_ban can't be greater than 1024" for flag x? Not sure about that.

Apart from that, ndmenu is more than a moderation menu for members: It contans the VIP menu, and a server list. As for the last thing /server would be enough, but the VIP menu contains individually scripted actions. By the way, you can also call ndmenu, and take a look on the VIP menu.

10 minutes ago kami kicked someone and just when the kick message appeared the server started lagging like hell.

I'm not sure about the ban lenght but shouldnt you have enough trust in the members ?

That's a question an admin, or the inventor of this system/differentiation has to answer.

Currently, theres a ndmenu with many components, and two different menus, which was specifically coded for the server, and which is trying to make moderating easier. Changing this whole structure to "member flags" would be a pity for the work which was done already with this plugin on the one hand, on the other hand, it would result in an effort for admins. The question is, if it's really worth, to remove all components except the vipmenu itself, and will it really reduce the server load? Don't think so. And what I forget to mention is, that the ndmenu also containts detailed logging of all actions (what steamid did what), also not sure, if that's possible to enable with the standard amx commands.

Yes that is possbile with standard amx commands.
I know that it is SOME work, its actually not that much.
There are more plugins which could be removed it was just an example.

And yes it would reduce server load, because right now they use.
Amxmod + ndmenu = 2

Oh and this way you can see which members are really mature and should be member too
Forgot to mention on jail VIP use it not even allowed so yeah^^

Edit:There are also other benefits.
With all members integrated into amx menu they could use the admin chat which only admins can see ;D

Edit2: UIAO could be removed aswell, it is such a huge resource waster.

I do think this would reduce server load by quote alot, the thing that seems to take up most of the server capicity on ndmenu is the calling for all current players when listed for who you want to select when kicking etc, this actually caused pretty long freezes and after the fix less, but still freezes the server so I don't see how it wouldn't reduce the server load.
You could remove the ndmenu and /server components and simply make it a ViPmenu, this would mean 1. less usage of nDmenu so less queries for ingame players, reduction of use of this query by a quite significant amount.

The only problem is, can we limit the amx_ban? I don't think the admins will trust members with the ability to bann for as long as they'd like.

Well I'll look if I can find limited bans but I'm not sure.

Though I think if some member abuses that it shows that these shouldnt be member at all?

/server is nice... yes it takes up a lot of cpu usage too... it contacts all other servers and needs responses of them and so.

But UIAO is a big resource eater too.

The lag is caused because the servers are swapping something cant remember what but i asked agito and thats what he said but i dunno if its possible to fix

If amx_ban can't be limited for a specific flag, it's no problem to make something like "nd_ban" - that would be a tiny plugin.

Butter 1 or 2 tiny plugins then a massive one which mainly uses 2 lines of code

Well if the admin team does not believe in their member team they should do that.

Ok we removed some useless plugins in all servers.
But i saw that epic lag only happen most of time at cs1..
So i remove the last plugin i added and aparently, now all works fine..
wait and see.

ps : all crash error was due to blockmaker (bm is now removed from all servers)
