Mail from Philip Martins?
Hello ppl, I got this mail a few weeks ago...
Do u got it too or only me ?
Got it on my ND account as PM.
And this guy got money
From: Philip Martins.
Darfur, Sudan
Email: philip_martins04@yahoo.com
Dearly One,
My warmest greeting to you in the name of the Lord. I am Philip Martins Son of Chief George Martins; I inherited an important sum of money from my late father who died in the recent crisis in Sudan. I wish to request for your assistance in investing this sum in lucrative venture or manufacturing and real estate management in your country. I have Five million, seven hundred thousand United State Dollars. USD ($5,700,000) to invest in this transaction and I will require your assistance in receiving the fund in your account in your country. I will gladly give you some reasonable percent from the total sum for your assistance.
Before his death on September 2009, he gave me all the necessary legal documents to the deposit of the fund in the bank, I am 20 years old and a university undergraduate and really don't know what to do. Now I want an account overseas where I can transfer this funds and after the transaction I will come and reside permanently in your country till such a time that it will be convenient for me to return back home if I so desire. This is because I have suffered a lot of set backs as a result of incessant political crisis here in Sudan. The death of my father actually brought sorrow to my life. I also want to invest the fund under your care because I am ignorant of business world. I am in a sincere desire of your humble assistance in this regards. Your suggestions and ideas will be highly regarded.
Now permit me to ask these few questions: 1. Can you honestly help me from your heart? 2. Can I completely trust you? 3. What percentage of the total amount in question will be good for you after the money is in your account? Please, consider this and get back to me as soon as possible.
Immediately I confirm your willingness, I will send to you my picture and also give you more details about me and the bank were my late father deposited the fund, so that you can reach the bank and confirm the existence of the fund as well, because seeing is believing.
Please always reply me through this my private email: philip_martins04@yahoo.com
Awaiting your immediate response and May God bless you for your effort.
With love,
Philip Martins

Re: Mail from Philip Martins?
Hm, seems like an attempt for scam to me...
Remember, there may be more than one person/party involved when attempting to conduct fraud.
From what I can decipher in the message:
1. Provide you with a "bank" contact information, of which most likely connects you with some affiliate of the scammer.
2. Feed you bull crap so that you are not as suspecting (don't be surprise, these stuff actually happens to).
3. He's going to ask you for your bank account number followed by several other personal information that can let him possess further information (a.k.a. engage in identity theft).
4. Say bye bye to your bank account and many other personal assets.
Always ask yourself this:
Is this too good to be true? Will this person really give you a percentage of his inheritance?
Secondly, what kind of person would trust his funds to someone he doesn't even know? Do you really know that much about banking and investments (as what is written in his e-mail)?
For crying out loud, this person should just go to a brokerage or investment banking firm.
Hope you didn't fall for it
Also, do the world a favor and flag him xD

Hanyu:
Thank you for telling me, because the letter were hard to understand. He is very smart in his writting, I mean he takes you "heart" when he tells about his dad etc. So people may think oh poor him.
I will not do the mistake again since I sent 70 euro to a friend that I never met, he was so nice to me and everything he said he was from my homecountry but lived in Denmark, so he will pay me the money back. I sent him 70 euro because he said I lost all documents etc, from my fathers bank account. Now suddenly 2 years later he is gone, he doesnt write or anything. That was lucky that it was 70 euro, if it would be like 1000 euro that would be bad...
