MAP MAKING CONTEST: Make it a reality

Okay.. for some time ago i made a topic.. about the map community.. and about making some contests..
... and i really want to make this a reality.. so im posting this to.. see if we finaly can make it a reality..

okay.. rules.
Rules are simple.. .
You need to add a advertise for NeonDragon..
..if you got any more ideas for rules .. make a reply..

it's gonna be hold each month.. so mappers have enough time..
you will be told what kinda map we are looking for..
example zombie, Jail, Fun or even Base builder there is comming soon ^^

Prices is not sure yet.. i need to get it approved first.. ^^
but hopefully something with "VIP"

..It could be cool if the maps was tested on the ND private server.. so we can test it together all Judges..
we are gonna judge maps with a scale like this..

Design: 1 to 10
Gameplay: 1 to 10
R-speed: 1 to 10
Overall: 1 to 10

and all judges.. need to have each other on friends. so we can make chat all together and then we are gonna post or or final score.. so we can make the overall score.. ^^
..and hopefully not only the winner makes it to the server..

So what i want.. know.. is from admins and stuff.. to say.. we can do this contest.. and i want
some judges.. if i get like 20 who wants to be judge.. i mey add you all to the list.. but only 5 off us desides.. but the rest can tell us there score if they want.. bounce

so we have more opinions.. ! anything else.. ;D i mey update it..

okay this is what i want from mappers.. when they post there maps.. !

Map name.
Status.
Spawns.
Archive (size).
Unpacked (size).
Download Link.

nothing more.. ! i don't want you to post pic in you'r thread.. !
becuz then it will fill to much in the topic.. ^^
and i hope you will upload on fpsbanana.. so people can see you'r work.. ^^

and by posting im gonna make a topic each month: with the dato. so you know it's there you have to post it..
and please no spam in the topic.. i want to keep it clean so it only about.. 7 replays or how many maps there was made that month.. ^^ and then when the judges is done jugding.. im gonna make a replay with all the scores and who won.. ! and after that.. you can spam as much as you want to. with you'r gratz to the winner ^^ and the rest of the contesters.. "so they don't feel left out ^^" that's all ^^ hope it will be a reality ;D

I deffinitely want to be a judge ^_^

This would be really nice not only for the thrill of the contest but it will add alot of great maps to our cycles, aswell as add alot more advertisements for neonDragon ^_^

I would be up for judge but i don't have any experience with mapping or anything so i don't think it'd be a good idea.

nope it's for people who knows how to play the game.. and know what a good map is like ;D and wants to try out all the maps the mappers has made ^^ and is strict..

You have to give Credit to.. example, if you use some textures you found on fps.. you need to add it to credit.. and same with. Prefrabs.. No because thats just bullshit why should we give them credit for making wads or even prefabs?

Exactly what i think of it...

i get what you say.. only the adveticing is needed.. becuz why give the winner VIP when he dosen't even make the map for neondragon ?? ;D so that is why the advetice is for.. i'll say okay to the part with no credit to the wad maker and the prefrab mkaer ;D since it's free to download.. and by the copying part.. i did not mean you cant make a map that looks like another..
i mean you cant download the original dust_2 bsp and edit it.. becuz that's illegal.. !

r speed is becuz.. if the map is bad made the r speed is over 2000 it's gonna be so laggy so i think if someone made a map not as fun.. but with a r speed off 6-800 it is gonna be much more enjoyable for all.. !

You guys could like all put in an amount of money, and then you can buy ViP for the winner, if there are like 5 guys you can all put in 2 euro

Well we already had a map making contest in the past, why would neon give away vip again while we basicly dont need more maps..

BB is about building stuff.. there isnt really anything a map needs for it, unless you maybe make the zombie area a bit more interesting.

We always play the same maps, and it won't be bad if we renew them. As Dazo said before, the mapmakers could improve the maps that now we have and make them funnier being the same maps.

I have no idea about mapping but if a mapper wants to be in the judgement, why can't he/she??
I don't see anything bad if that guy doesn't vote his/her own map Wink
