sound error ?

okay im making a jail map and in my disco i got this problem...

cs consol
error loading sound blabla...

valve hammer had no problem compiling.. btw it is a wav file

but can it be the song is to long ?

it is 2 min long ! and is 21.9 mb ?

The sound has to be .wav file

i made it like this ambient_generic and under path/filename.wav Of WAV .. i put the sound ?

Ok i read it now your problem is

Your song name - name.wav
Do not specify a path name

And on the flags add
Start Silent - Toggled
Radius - Toggled (pick 1 of them)

I did not work ? lol

the wav file must have some settings. 16 Bit, 8000 Hz, Mono here is a tutorial, how to convert to wav correctly. (the tutorial is made for hlss, but i think it works for the hl engine in general) http://www.hlss.us/index.php?p=7
if you have this, i don't know the problem.

and try to have a small file size. i think it will take much time to download 22mb. (some minutes at least, depends on the server)

you know that the wav file will not be in your mapfile? you have to put it in counter-strike/cstrike/sounds. you can also change the sound without having to compile the map again. just replace the file.
and you should add a res file, so others will download the sound from the server.

(i don't know how much you know about this. maybe you do know all this. but this way we can be sure that this is not your problem (anymore).)

I had kinda same problem with music .. btw after i convert with this software worked perfectly
