I only heard MJ's songs because a friend likes them and sometimes he says me "Listen that song"... But I never heard them by myself.
He is dead, yes, but that's not a reason for him to be the most important guy in the World. Many children die everyday in Africa and no one cares about it. That's a injustice...
His personal life was a totally disaster. I only like the Popin and Krump that he invented.

Before I didn't know any name of the songs of michael jackson music, but after he died... MJ was played a lot on TMF etc and I kinda liked some songs...

Well, I guess you guys are all still pretty young and that's why you've never heard of him before?

I agree his older songs are the best, when I was younger we used to listen to "History", a double-CD. That album contains almost all of his best songs.

Sillent, if you really like him that much, I suggest you get that album if you don't already have it. Also, I have to thank you, because of this thread I looked up some of his videos on youTube and I've been listening to them ever since.

you obviously know NOTHING about what MJ has done in his life. His personal life wasn't a total disaster, only the last phew years were (and considerably the first phew years) because of moneywolves claiming to be molested by MJ and after MJ's death admitting that it was untrue all along.

He has opened up a huge world of afro-americans, because of MJ they were accepted on TV, in magazines, in any media for that matter, which wasn't the case before MJ.
MJ is legendary for what he has done, not only for his performance on stage which was pretty damned good but also for what he has done for the people around him.

Also, his impact on the dance-world is HUGE. I wouldn't be suprised if MJ would have had the biggest influence in the world for a single person in history.
