How to remove ROZE spam from config.

Hello all who got the annoying roze or advertising virus in their config.

It will often send roze in chat or roze liknot eserver tov be zol? titkasher 057-753-599 Game-server.co.il 9, Game Seerv.co.il Serverin…. or something similar. A lot of you get kicked or banned for spamming the server even it really isn’t your fault.

How to remove this annoying spam?

Go to your cstrike folder and find your config. In most computers it’s placed in this location: local disc C, program files, steam, steamapps, "your steam account name", counter strike, cstrike. The adress will look something like mine:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\hotsili\counter-strike\cstrike. Even the accountname "hotsili will be your accountname instead.

When you have found your config.cfg. file you right-click on it and open it with notepad; then you will be able to read whats inside it.It can look like this:

All those who has a line through the text is the spam/virus that has been put into your config.

To get rid of it you have to delete all the text from say. If we take an example:
bind "g" "drop;say Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il / 0548124323".

To explain what happens ind this bind it means that everytime you push g to drop a weapon, you will drop the weapon but also send a text in chat saying: Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il/0548124323.

After removing the spamming text the same line should look like this:
bind "g" "drop"

In your config you only have to check all the bind part and carefully remove all the spamming text from your config. Be sure every line end with ".

When you have finished cleaning your config it’s a good idea to protect it agains changing again; by making it a “read only” file. Close your config, right-click on it and choose properties in the buttom. Then in the new window under Attributes mark "read only" and push OK.


In case you think it’s too hard for you to clean your own config, you can copy paste my config into a notepad and then save it as the name config.cfg. After saving it you copy it into your cstrike folder and replace your own config-file with a new clean one.

This is the config text to be copy/pasted into notepad, please note halfway through this config I have marked <---- put your nick in here. After doing that you remove the <---- put your nick in here part. To copy/paste you hold your left mousebutton down and mark the text, then you click on your right mousebutton and choose copy. To paste it into notepad you open notepad and click your right mousebutton and choose paste: Here starts the config:

If your binds are different than mine; you can either make the changes immediately by open the config and make the changes or keep it closed, start steam and then do the changes in options. F.ex. have I bound "ALT" for speaking in game, but you might prefer another key for your ingame speaking.

When all changes has been done it’s a good idea to protect your config to be changed again. You again find your config-file in cstrike. This time you don’t open it but right-click on it and then choose properties in the buttom of window that opens. Then in attributes in buttom of this window mark "read-only" and push OK. Now your config is protected.

In case you need to do changes to your config, remember you first have to remove the "read only" mark in properties otherwise it wont keep the new changes. But remember to make it "read only" after the changes.

Hallo iedereen die de irritante roze of advertising virus in zijn config heeft.

Het zorgt ervoor dat je vaak roze of roze liknot eserver tov be zol? titkasher 057-753-599 Game-server.co.il 9, Game Seerv.co.il Serverin…. of iets soortgelijks zegt in chat. Veel van jullie worden vaak gekicked of gebanned voor spammen op servers, terwijl dat helemaal niet jullie schuld is.

Hoe verwijder ik dit virus?

Ga naar je cstrike folder en vind je config.cfg. Op de meeste computers staat het onder C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/ACCOUNTNAAM/Counter-Strike/cstrike.
In plaats van ACCOUNTNAAM staat daar je eigen accountnaam ingevult.

Als je je config.cfg hebt gevonden (staat in de cstrike map), klik je er met rechtermuisklik op, en selecteer je openen met..
Zodra dit scherm opent krijg je een lijst met programmas te zien, kies Kladblok en klik op openen.
Nu zie je de inhoud van config.cfg, en het zal er ongeveer zo uitzien:

Alles waardoor een lijn getrokken is is het virus dat in jou config is gezet.

Om hier vanaf te komen moet je alle text deleten waar say bij staat, als we bijvoorbeeld nemen:

Om uit te leggen wat er gebeurt: hier staat dat wanneer je “g” indrukt, je je wapen weggooit (drop), maar tegelijkertijd ook in de chat zegt: Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il/0548124323.

Nadat je het gedeelte dat zorgt voor de spam hebt weggegooid (gewoon selecteren en verwijderen met backspace of delete), zou het er zo uit moeten zien:

Nou moet je niks anders meer doen dan dit herhalen, en alle spam weggooien. Wees voorzichtig dat je wel een het einde van elke regel een " hebt staan .

Zodra je klaar bent met het schoonmaken van je config, is het een goed idee om je config te beschermen om ervoor te zorgen dat dit niet weer gebeurt. Om dat te doen moet je er een Alleen-Lezen file van maken. Dit doe je door rechtermuisklik te doen op config.cfg en vervolgens te klikken op Eigenschappen onderaan. Er staat dan onder het tab: Algemeen, de optie Aleen-Lezen die je aan kan vinken, doe dit en druk op ok.

Voor het geval je het te moeilijk vind om je eigen config schoon te maken, kan je mijn config kopiëren in Kladblok, en het opslaan met de naam config.cfg. Vervolgens vervang je de config.cfg in je cstrike map met de config.cfg die je net hebt aangemaakt.

Dit is de config text dat je moet kopiëren en plakken in je kladblock, let wel op dat halverwegen de config er is gemarkeerd: ---------->Je naam<----------, dit moet je vervangen met je ingame naam (en uiteraard ook de pijltjes weghalen), Om te kopiëren selecteer je eerst de tekst door je linkermuisknop in te halen en hem over de tekst heen te slepen, alles wat blauw wordt heb je nu gemarkeerd. Vervolgens druk je met je rechter muisknop op de geselecteerde tekst, en klik op Kopiëren. Vervolgens ga je naar je Kladblock, en klik je met je rechtermuisknop op het lege veld, en klikt vervolgens op Plakken.

Voor het geval je je knoppen liever anders hebt staan dan ik, zou je die direct aan kunnen passen in de config.cfg, of je sluit config.cfg en past het in het spel aan via Opties -> Keyboard. Ik heb bijvoordbeeld mijn ALT gebruikt om te spreken, terwijl dat voor jou misschien anders ligt.

Als je alles verandert hebt, is het een goed idee om ervoor te zorgen dat dit je niet nogmaals over komt, een makkelijke manier om dat te doen is van je config.cfg een Alleen-Lezen bestand te maken. Dit doe je door met je rechter muisknop op config.cfg te klikken en vervolgens te klikken op Eigenschappen. Hier staat onder het tab ‘Algemeen’ de optie om Alleen-Lezen aan te zetten. Vink dit aan en druk op OK.

Deze verandering zorgt er echter wel voor dat je niet meer je opties kunt veranderen tenzij je het weer weg vinkt. Je kunt makkelijk veranderingen aanbrengen door even het Alleen-Lezen uit te zetten, het te veranderen en vervolgens weer Alleen-Lezen aan te vinken, zodat je config goed beschermt blijft.

A dokladnie adres bedzie wygladal mniej wiecej tak: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\hotsili\counter-strike\cstrike."

Kiedy znajdziecie wasz plik config.cfg kliknijcie na niego prawym i otworzcie w notepadzie. Wtedy bedziecie w stanie odczytac co jest w srodku.

Wszyscy ktorzy maja przekreslony tekst to jest wlasnie spam/virus ktory wlasnie zostal wam wcisniety w config.

Zeby zlikwidowac ten spam musimy wykasowac te linie w ktorych sa te spamowe wiadomosci.
Na przyklad jesli mamy:
bind "g" "drop;say Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il / 0548124323"
to po naciesnieciu "g" w czacie wyswietli sie nam "Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il/0548124323."

Po usunieciu tego spamu linijka powinna wygladac tak:
bind "g" "drop"

Kiedy wykasujemy wszystkie spamowe wiadomosci, dobrze byloby, gdybysmy jeszcze zabezpieczyli plik przed kolejnymi
atakami tego spamu. Zeby to zrobic, kliknij na plik config.cfg prawym, wlasciwosci, zaznaczamy "tylko do odczytu" i klikamy OK.

And, yes, i said to othger admin and nd team to stop kick/ban for roze, we cant do anything except edit the config .. so for noob, it is hard.

Np Koyumu. I fully understand that they are kicked or banned as I do it myself . Its really annoying to see the spam all the time.

Reason why I made this thread is that it hopefully might help someone to fix theír problem. I tried to write it with as many deatails as possible, so hopefully people who don't know much about these things; are able to fix their config.

In case they aren't they are more than welcome to write in this thread or pm me, then I will try to help them.

Isn't it much easyer to just...

type unbind all in console
go to options -> Keyboard -> Use Defaults -> Apply
and then rebind any costum binds

It doesnt always work .. we tried that on ett Jeppe and it didnt work. Thats why I made this post.

Nice post, it probably will help a lot of people! I've never had this but if I do get it and then I'll just use this.

How exactly didn't it work? Did he changed it on server and the next map he had it back? Or did he changed it on server, but it just didn't got unbinded (the same map)? Or did he changed it while not being connected to a server? (Or anything other?)

In the first case, the problem could be, when you are playing on a server and do changes to your config, the next map you will have the old config again. But when you are not on a server and do these changes, they will stay. (That's what i figured out.)
Had this problem sometimes with my name. I changed it before connecting to a server (, so they won't know i am member,) and later on server i changed it back. But on nextmap i still had the undercover name. As i changed it while i wasn't on any server, the name stayed.

Sometimes tho it is actually people in roze spamming it and then we have to ban thats happened to me once or twice and im sure i reported them but if we tell them to check there config and they dont listen and carry on doing it can we kick?

the config. file in my lappy is ok .nothin is wrong there..but still while playing cs, my laptop is spamming "roze like not server be zol"...

hi, i am playing on notebook and i have got same problem like a anksgags ... i changed my config, but when i play CS 1.6 i am writing spam message all the time... i copied right congif settings from first page, but it still and i am spamming all the time ... what can i do ?:
