About spectators.

I've been wondering if it's possible to put some kind of plugin on the servers to kick long time spectators/afk'ers?
I have been playing on zombie server day for some time now and have noticed that people can be standing as spectators for hours. That means that other people who actually wanna join can't get in if server is full.

I think reason why people are going spectators most of the time is to be able to play when they want to; instead of having to wait for a free slot. It can be a bit annoying when you see maybe 5-10 people are standing there for hours and as VIP I can only votekick people who has joined the game and is afk. I have tried to kick spectators but only names of the people who are actually playing shows up in the menu.

I know on other servers I have been playing on, there has been some kind of plugin (I'm sorry I don't know much about how to set up a server so I dunno how it's done) but they kicked automatic people after being spectating for some time.. maybe a maptime or so. Or maybe make it able for VIP's to votekick people who have been spectating for long.

I'm fully aware of that spectating is very useful when you have to watch a person you suspect for cheating or if you have to demo someone... but I know that many of the spectators just stand there; to be sure to have a slot.

Just an idea

Seen that before but if a admin or member is watching someone they will be kicked if they are there to long

Just an idea

we usually need to spectate, to record demo or just to keep watch of the server it would be difficult for member/admin and players who want to record cheaters.... we would be if in a awfull spot if we used such plugins, but about being afk i don't see the harm in that as long u don't get kicked while spectating someone or recording.

Today it took me around 35 mins to get into the zombie day server.. when i actually got in there were 6 spectators.. i told them to pick a team or get kicked.. none of them responded.

They took 6 spots while they were doing nothing.. very anoying!

Yeah that is true.... Maybe a plugin that 2 minutes afk = kick? Because if we are in spec recording a demo if you write something you wont be kicked... i think.

Yup it should kick just the guys who dont press any buttons ( who rly are afk ) ...

Such a problem wich has such an easy solution !

Guys... heres the deal.

Get rid of NDmenu, use amx and there admins wont be kicked by afk kicker ;D

I don't think people go to spectator to actually spectate the game, but to have a player slot on the server so they can play when they come back from whatever they are doing.

Not all servers are good to have this..

Good idea, if you're spectating someone just type every 3 to 5 minutes?

Also another idea is to always leave a spot open for admins/members/vip, so a member could always join and kick the afk-ers.. Than there always could be a member online! So 31/32 always a spot free, but one problem would be, you couldn't auto-join anymore. So I think it wouldn't really help o.O Still wanted to post.

I dont see this closed? if it were closed, i think one of the admins should lock it, so its not really closed, and this is just an idea.... and he are giving his opinions..

its not closed that u cant write anythign more in it... but if u are smart it should be closed..

there is no answer to this idea so he bumped it.. what's wrong with that=/

all members know, if there are spectators who dont write or who dont record a demo//spec for rulebreaker they will get kicked. there is nothing more to discuss in this topic and for what do he reply then <.<

We kick them manually if needed.
