And yes I am dead serious.

Radon in your house walls is more radioactive than pu-239.
Radium in your garden is more radioactive than pu-239.

And it's as toxic as pure nikotine, that means very poisonious.

edit: I just wondered why it's so hard to get? Because c'mon I can think of 100 differend things than are far more dangeorus than plutonium... Even if they would find what I write in the internet, they wouldn't do any actions about it. I think they would create a "profile" of what kind of person I am before they add me to the blacklist or something similar to that..

You can get it. How to?

Money and connections. You can meet someone who can give you access (as necro said). Search universities where is said that techers make it easy to students. Or, the main option, negociate with a blackmarket dealer to let you see it. I know you said blackmarket is a no go but I don't see u gain access legally.

Nevertheless, SexyPanda is right. Keep it in mind that Pu is used in nuclear bombs and submarines so naturally is related to war and terrorism. So, if u get it, any incident related to Pu would put u in a suspect list.

I read a few weeks ago on an 30-years old book or newspaper "Radiochemicals" from The Dariochemical Centre, Amersham. They used to sell radioisotops of every kind. Like Tc, Pm, Po,Ra,Ac,Pa,U,Np,Pu,Am,Cm and even tritium as gas, water (T2O) and isotop marked chemicals. But otherway no atomicnumber more than 96 cm. Those isotops werent sold in metallic form but in crystalline (chlorides and nitrates) and aqueous solutions of these salts

So they used to sell 2-Pu isotops like PU-238 and the one u search PU 239.

In the catalouge it says:
: "In most countries, persons posessing, using, selling or transporting radioactive materials must be licensed by a national authority".
Then it depends how the laws are in Finland

I have also seen in CRC Handbook of chemistry and physics that you can buy PU from AEC ( Atomic Energy Comission, USA) if you have state, and its like 0.00000000000^350, 1 % that u will have it xD

I would think trying to obtain plutonium would be hard

Its highly unstable, and handling it without proper facilities will results in death, probably via cancer, or acute radiation poisoning.

If you ever want to get some, i would recommend working for people who construct military hardware, such as BAE systems(nuclear submarines and nuclear aircraft careers produce it), or get a degree in nuclear physics and work in a nuclear power plant - they produce sh1tloads as waste.

i knwo you can think of worse things to handle, but if plutonium was available to teh general public, how long do you think it would take for our water supplies to become radio active? or it to pollute or foodchain?
